Autumn Fun~

Seems like summer has slipped by and Autumn has come already.

We have a busy October.....surgeries for one, genetics testing for another. In between homeschooling a few and finding our rhythm with #7. Which is a post for another time~

Adoption isn't for the faint of heart. It is a journey.

So many firsts for our little 6 year old.....first lost tooth, first haircut, first wagon ride to the pumpkin patch.....

And these two.....goodness, I thought for sure Joshua would be close to Hope, who is only a year older than her....but he took to Rachel right away and I always find them close....giggling.

Conspiring, holding hands. I think he likes to look out for her. She is younger than him by 3 1/2 years. However they are emotionally about the same age.

Hope you are all having a great start to your fall. And if you think about it, say a prayer for our Gracie, she is having cleft surgery October 10. Hopefully her last.

And also Rachel, who will begin genetics testing once again in addition to a long list of medical tests.

Helping a friend in need....

I have a very dear friend, her name is Robin. I have known her since we adopted Hope way back in 2006....even before. We have traded quilt squares for 100 good wishes quilts and she has mentored me in sewing, even helping us out when we fundraised our way through 4 adoption.

And now Robin and her family are steppig out once again in faith and bringing home sweet baby Grace.

This sweetheart is special to me as she is from our Gracie's orphanage.
And I want to help Robin so that she doesnt have to spend all her time sewing and missing her family.

So, I have decided to have a Scentsy fundraiser for her. All profits from all sales I get from
September 14 until September 30, will go towards their adoption of Grace.

All you have to do to place an order is visit my site here.

Place your order and thats it, when I get paid October 1, I will send Robin the check!! Easy Peasy!!

and just look at these awesome holiday warmers.

This and That~

Nothing much going on here...just settling in. When you adopt an older child, it's a good idea to stay close to home...and get settled, establish a routine.

Which is what we've been doing. And things are going ok. It's an adjustment for all of us.

Joshua is still doing ESL twice a week and is registered fro kindergarten this fall. We had planned on home schooling him but he is doing really well and wants to go to school.

Plus and I am being honest here. I am not sure I could home school Joshua. We also have Gracie's surgery this fall and a whole slew of medical appointments for Rachel.

So lately we have been staying home and just venturing out for short trips...

or playing in our backyard...

tending the garden....

and posing for random pictures....

More Summer Fun~

When there is nothing else to do, you bring out the slip n slide~

And have your oldest DD take random pictures for you~

And of course Rachel is not without her favorite movie ever....I  think I may have to purchase this from the library for her....she always checks it out it's always in her hand~

Python Parade~

In our neck of the woods there is an old wives tale...it's about pythons...

I will spare you the history lesson, if you are interested you can read about it here.

Much fun was had by the little's and the one big that happened to be home and was drug along.

I mean seriously, five kids with kazoo's, what could be more fun than that??

And being able to actually participate in said parade?? Even better yet.

Followed by Daddy who had to stop and admire the view.

And more walking...(all up hill BTW)

Which ended with a hillarious puppet show that had all the kids rolling with laughter...even our sweet Josh who doen't quite understand the whole english thing yet.

Hope your weekend was just as fun as ours!!

A little Summer Fun~

It was just a tad warm yesterday so to stop the bickering between the little's we decided to venture outside.

They were happy, me, not so much but I survived.

They had some fun, some popsicles and got some of their energy out!!

oh, and Joshua insists that I be in at leats one of the pictures I take. He took the camera and because he is never far from me....I had to post this lovely pic. Sans makeup or even a brushed head of hair. Lovely, eh?

Once we soaked up enough water, the bikes came out and well....

They still roll like they are in China.....three to a bike!!

Whatever works, right?!?! lol
